1969 Mercedes 230 Sedan
Great colors, original paint and interior. No rust or accidents. Just one owner with an interesting story ..... Purchased from a very nice local elderly couple who have stopped driving. Their idea of a car was just transportation. They would buy the best built, treat it well and get many years of service. From our conversation they have had only three cars during their long married life. A Packard, a Volvo and this car since 1969. I ask what led them to Mercedes.... without hesitation they answered "it was Consumers Report most reliable car of the year". I asked them if they compared it to a another Volvo.....and the answer was a swift no ....because of Consumer Reports. They also told me how the local Dealer tried to sell them the more expensive 280 Sedan but their minds were set. The window sticker ( included) was just over $5,000 plus an additional $800 for Air Conditioning. It would seem they got there moneys worth after after 45 years! The removable roof rack was bought in 1970 for traveling and camping. Well built of aluminum with "teak" wood slats; very light and easy to take on and off. The car has been to almost all of the Western National Parks I was told.
